Safety & Premises Management Officer
Salary - £28,837 - £30,422 per annum | Based in Twickenham with travel to AfC locations across Richmond, Kingston and Windsor and Maidenhead boroughs | Permanent | Full Time 

Achieving for Children (AfC) is looking for a Safety and Premises Management Officer.  This is a good opportunity for someone who wishes to train for a career in facilities management including health and safety compliance.  The successful candidate will be trained and supported to develop their specialist knowledge and expertise in this area and a commitment to further training and development is essential.  This is a great time to be joining our Safety and Premises Management Team as we are about to embark on a programme of work to modernise how and where we work.  

The postholder will be required to travel between AfC buildings across Kingston, Richmond and Windsor and Maidenhead boroughs and therefore a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.

About the role
The Safety & Premises Management Officer will work with the Head of Safety and Premises Management to oversee facilities management issues across AfC buildings.

As Safety and Premises Management Officer for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the organisation to create modern, safe and healthy working environments
  • Completing a variety of day to day facilities management tasks including helping with office moves and co-ordinating / undertaking basic property maintenance 
  • Checking building compliance against AfCs health and safety policy and other associated legislation
  • Liaising with AfCs partner organisations on property related issues
  • Advising building managers on facilities management issues and supporting them as required
  • Resolving day to day issues as they arise 
  • Supporting the Head of Safety and Premises Management to develop the Safety and Premises Management function and relevant policies across AfC
  • Supporting the Head of Safety and Premises Management to administer the AfC Board of Directors including minute taking at key meetings
  • Completion of vocational training to develop own skills, knowledge and expertise

To be the Safety and Premises Management Officer for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:
  • Ability to solve problems and find practical solutions
  • Experience of undertaking tasks in line with relevant guidance
  • Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships 
  • Ability to understand frameworks and policies and monitor compliance
  • Experience of undertaking facilities management tasks
  • Experience of delivering business administration support Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to treat information confidentially
