Clinical Lead for Richmond MHST
Salary £44,790 - £50,826 | Based in Richmond | Permanent | Full Time (Part Time applications will be considered)

About the Role
We are looking for a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist/Educational Psychologist/Systemic Therapist who either have or are eligible for BABCP accreditation for CBT. We are looking for this clinician to join our innovative and friendly Emotional Health Service in the established Mental Health Support Team (MHST) which is part of the Trailblazer programme established in 2018.

This post will sit within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) for Richmond. We have two MHSTs in Richmond: Wave 1 (started in 2019) and Wave 4 (started in 2020). Our Wave 1 team consists of four Educational Wellbeing Practitioners (EWPs), two CAMHS clinicians and one Mental Health Clinician. Our Wave 4 team is being developed to provide this same level of capacity. Both teams will be overseen by one full-time Clinical Lead for the borough (or two part-time clinical lead posts; one for each team).

The MHST works within a cluster of primary and secondary schools with a combined total population of 8,000 pupils each. MHSTs work jointly with schools and cluster leads to implement a whole school approach to mental health across the cluster, informed by the needs outlined on the cluster action plan. In Richmond the focus for our MHSTs is around self-harm and risk taking behaviours.

As the Clinical Lead for the Richmond MHST for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the development of a whole-school approach within cluster schools.
  • Providing consultation to schools.
  • Triage referrals and allocation of work to the MHST staff.
  • Help lead on innovative developments based on trends and patterns identified by the cluster.
  • Provide training and workshops to school staff and parents.
  • Line manage staff.
  • Provide CBT supervision for MHST staff (both group and individual).
  • Lead and support the team on the development of resources when required.
  • Support cluster leads to develop action plans and have a small caseload of your own.
The post can be either one full time or two part-time posts. It will involve working in schools across the borough of Richmond with touch down office space in Twickenham and Grey Court School. This is a permanent post(s).

About you
To be a Clinical Lead at AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points;
  • Putting children and young people first.
  • Be qualified as a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist/Educational Psychologist/Systemic Therapist and either hold or be eligible for holding BABCP accreditation.
  • Have current HCPC registration or other equivalent professional body registration.
  • Able to provide consultation and training to a range of professionals on mental health.
  • Have CAMHS experience in working with complex and vulnerable families.
