Fostering Supervising Social Worker x 2 
Salary: £34,884 to £37,722 per annum | Based in Kingston | Permanent and Fixed term | Full-time

We are looking for 2 Fostering Supervising Social Workers, permanent and 1 year fixed term contract. 

About the role
The Fostering Team in Achieving for Children are seeking to new two new Social Workers for a permanent position and an internal secondment/ fixed term period to cover the maternity leave of members of staff.
As a Fostering social worker you will be responsible for:
  • Assessing mainstream foster carers and connected person’s carers.
  • Supervising and supporting foster carers
  • Participating in the duty system where we place children with in house foster carers.
  • Our manageable caseloads, supportive management structure and flexible technology  ensure that we achieve good outcomes for our children, young people and their families and maintain a high-quality service.

About you
To be a social worker in the Fostering Service, you will need to be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:
  • Command good working knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children, particularly the Children Act 1989, Fostering Regulations and Care Standards and all legislation related to Looked After Children and Care Leavers 
  • Experience post qualification of working in a Children and Families Team.
  • Hold a good understanding of the pressures faced by foster carers who accommodate children and the inherited issues faced by our children in the care system.
  • Strong understand the complex and challenging aspects of fostering assessments and the challenges around private fostering.
  • Be a strong team player but also able to work on your own

Start dates
