Paediatric Physiotherapist (Band 6)
Salary - £33,291 - £35,724 pro-rata | Based in Kingston | Permanent | Full-time and Part-time

About the role
We have positions available for 2 term time only posts within our special schools and community settings. One post is full time term time only (job share potential for right candidates) and the other is a 3 day term time only post. Both posts offer a fantastic opportunity to work and develop as an individual and as part of a team gaining clinical and operational experience in a supportive environment. We would like to hear from any experienced individuals who have a passion for working with children and young people aged 0-18 years.

As a Paediatric Physiotherapist for Achieving for Children you will be responsible for
  • Providing a neurodevelopmental paediatric service to children aged 0 to 18 years (and up to 19 years in special schools) who have a range of developmental disorders and neurological disabilities.
  • Undertaking assessments of children, and having an awareness of relevant standardised assessments tools, which includes functional and environmental factors. These children may have complex and/or long term disabilities and additional needs.
  • Liaising with the multidisciplinary team, families, carers and other professionals to maintain a holistic view of the child or young person. 
  • Encouraging functional independence in relation to gross motor activities through the assessment and prescription equipment and aids as required.
  • Be able to provide detailed reports for various purposes to include EHCP (education and health care plans).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in complex and challenging situations.

About you
To be a Paediatric Physiotherapist for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points
  • Experience of working as a Physiotherapist with children, young people and families with or without disabilities is essential
  • A degree or degree equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • CSP registration
  • Ideally registered with the APCP
  • Demonstrable experience in being able to use effective communication within the multidisciplinary team with multi-agency professionals and carers to ensure that the safety of individual children is considered as part of an holistic approach to therapy.
  • Analytical skills to reflect on clinical practice and experience
  • Postgraduate training and special interests e.g. Bobath
