Senior Residential Childcare Worker

Salary - £25,353 - £27,717 | Based in Teddington | Permanent | Full Time - 36 hours

About the role

Achieving for Children are opening a children's home in the Teddington area. Being a member of the team to open the home is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.

 

As Senior Residential Childcare Worker for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for

  • Safeguarding all children within the home and ensure their safety and wellbeing ensuring that any issues arising are dealt with appropriately.
  • To work collectively with team members using effective care practice, de-escalating and diversionary strategies and recognised techniques to manage young people who exhibit violent, threatening and confrontational behaviour.
  • Consistently act in accordance with the Behaviour Management policy.
  • Design, implement and lead shift plans and daily routines effectively and ensure all tasks are carried out, to include, for example, the day to day parenting responsibilities expected within any family home.

About you

To be Senior Residential Childcare Worker for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points

  • Safeguarding all children within the home and ensure their safety and wellbeing ensuring that any issues arising are dealt with appropriately.
  • Working collectively with team members using effective care practice, de-escalating and diversionary strategies and recognised techniques to manage young people who exhibit violent, threatening and confrontational behaviour.
  • Consistently acting in accordance with the Behaviour Management policy.
  • Designing, implementing and leading shift plans and daily routines effectively (ensuring all tasks are carried out, including, for example, the day to day parenting responsibilities expected within any family home).
