Physiotherapy Therapy Assistant
Salary Details: AFC Payscale £20,136 - £20,667 (Sp 15-18)
Appointment Type: Permanent

An opportunity has arisen for someone who wishes to join a friendly and growing therapy team, which is part of the Children and Young Peoples’ Development Service in Kingston upon Thames.

As a Physiotherapy Therapy Assistant for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for: 
  • The post involves working across our sites based at Moor Lane Centre, and at our Special schools Dysart and Bedelsford 
  • Management of equipment (assisting with assessments, setting up and maintaining and updating and monitoring the database accordingly),
  • Co-ordinating therapy referrals, maintaining information databases and providing administrative support for therapists
  • The role will also involve hands on work with children and young people which may include carrying out therapy programs under the guidance of the physiotherapist, running groups and assisting with hydrotherapy (in and out of the water).

About You

To be a Physiotherapy Therapy Assistant for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual with excellent organisation skills to work in a service for children and young people with disabilities
  • The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with children and young people with disabilities and a knowledge of physiotherapy.
  • Excellent IT skills are essential, the role will include using our electronic notes system, maintaining databases, assisting therapist develop therapy programs .
  • The post holder will need to be physically able to clean and service equipment from time to time (with guidance and training) as well as partake in the physical activities of carrying out physiotherapy programs.
  • We are looking for someone who has good observation and communication skills both with children and adults
