Salary - £40,869 - £46,839 | Based in Kingston and Richmond| Permanent | Full time

About the role
The SEND Team Manager is responsible for improving customer satisfaction levels for the service and is expected to act as a professional exemplar in carrying out all duties with a ‘can do’ attitude.

As SEND Team Manager for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for
  • The management of a sub team of EHCP Coordinators and a Senior Coordinator.
  • Supervision, performance management, professional development and the induction of new team members.
  • Working closely with service providers and families in order to ensure that the provision outlined in the EHC Plans is being effectively delivered.
  • Meeting with parents, schools and other agency representatives in order to negotiate, identify and develop positive solutions where children and young people have a complex range of needs.
  • Leading Annual Reviews as required and monitoring systems for the management of Review processes.
  • Ensure that performance standards and national indicators relating to the statutory EHC pathway and assessment process are consistently achieved.

About you
To be a SEND Team Manager for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:
  • Significant and relevant experience with SEND
  • Detailed knowledge of SEN law and the SEN Code of Practice
  • Experience in the management of staff, including performance, development, quality assurance and achieving goals.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people effectively and ability to identify risk
  • Experience of planning and organising team work or co-ordinating complex activities
  • Strong organisational abilities including: time management, creative-thinking, problem-solving and multitasking
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience in drafting high quality documents and reports
